This page lists every cookie extremebikerental.com stores on your device, what each one is for, and how long it lasts. It is the complete list — there is nothing kept back for a category page.
The short version
Nothing we set tracks you.
There is no analytics, no tag manager, no advertising pixel, no embedded map or video, and no third-party font. The typefaces are served from our own domain, so browsing this site does not tell any other company that you were here.
The banner you were shown is not asking permission for something we are already doing — it is there so the decision is yours in advance, and so that the switches exist before there is ever anything behind them. Both optional categories are off unless you turn them on, and today neither of them controls anything, because nothing on this site uses them.
If that changes, the thing we add will only run for people who have switched its category on. You can change your answer at any time from “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page, and turning something off is exactly one click, the same as turning it on.
The full list
Two cookies exist in the whole application. One remembers your answer to the banner; the other belongs to the staff booking system rather than to the website you are reading. Neither needs your consent, and both are listed anyway.
| Cookie | Set by | Where | What it does | How long it lasts | Needs consent? |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| ebr_consent | Extreme Bike Rental (first-party) | The whole website, once you answer the cookie banner. Nothing is stored until you do. | Remembers what you chose in the cookie banner, so we can honour it and stop asking. It holds your answer, the version of the choices you were shown, and the date — nothing that identifies you. | 6 months, then we ask again | No — strictly necessary |
| ebr_admin_session | Extreme Bike Rental (first-party) | /admin — the staff back office only. It is never set on any public page. | Keeps a member of staff signed in to the booking system. It holds a random token and nothing else — no name, no e-mail, no identifier that means anything outside our own database. | 8 hours, or until sign-out | No — strictly necessary |
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to keep and send back on your next visit. It is how a site recognises that two requests came from the same person — which is what makes staying signed in possible, and equally what makes tracking possible. The difference is entirely in what the cookie is used for, which is why the list above says so for each one.
Other things that store data on your device
Cookies are not the only way a site can keep something on your computer, so it is worth saying what else we do and do not use. We do not use local storage, session storage, IndexedDB, web beacons, device fingerprinting, or anything comparable.
The choices you make while filling in the booking form — your dates, the bikes you picked — are held in the page’s memory and in the address bar while you are on it, and are gone when you close the tab. Nothing is written to your device.
Changing your mind, and controlling cookies yourself
Your answer to the banner can be changed whenever you like: “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page reopens it, showing what you chose last time. Withdrawing is the same single click as agreeing was. We ask again after six months in any case, because an answer you gave last season is not really an answer any more.
Separately, every browser lets you see the cookies a site has set, delete them, and block future ones — usually under Settings, then Privacy. Deleting ours simply means the banner asks you again. Blocking them for /admin would stop a member of our staff signing in, which is the only thing that cookie is for.
Server logs
Our hosting provider records ordinary web-server information about each request — IP address, the page asked for, the time, and the browser’s user-agent string. That is not a cookie and cannot be used to follow you to other sites. It is kept briefly, to keep the site running and to investigate abuse, on our legitimate interest in operating the service securely.
Changes to this page
Any change to what we store gets reflected here on the day it ships — the list is generated from the application itself and is covered by automated tests that fail the build if a cookie exists that this page does not name, or if a cookie needing consent could be set without going through the banner.
